Work from Home role. Based in Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire.
DWR Executive Search has been instructed to find a qualified and experienced Senior Accountant with a developed understanding of the Agricultural/Commodities sector and in-depth practical knowledge of accountancy principals in Cote D’Ivoire and the wider Francophone West African region. This position is for citizens and residents of Cote D’Ivoire only (Abidjan) and is a “work-from-home” role.

They are now seeking an outstanding professional who is committed to their career and can demonstrate a true desire to join a progressive, well-established and dynamic mid-sized organisation that operates within the commodities/agricultural/FinTech sectors and can bring to them the talents and skills required to fill this exciting opportunity, which reports directly to the joint Co-Founders.
Core Duties of the Role: The successful candidate will be entirely responsible for the general running of accountancy requirements in Cote D’Ivoire and, as the company expands its operations, in the other Francophone nations across West Africa:
• General bookkeeping duties.
• Proactive involvement in the preparation and oversight of the company’s budgeting process.
• Developing appropriate financial strategies and plans that meet organisational goals.
• Analysing financial data and trends to provide insights and recommendations.
• Monitoring budget performance and implementing effective cost control measures.
• Preparing accurate and timely financial reports for the senior management team.
• Ensuring compliance with all in-country regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
• Developing and implementing account related policies and procedures to ensure that the company has strong internal controls in place at all times.
• Monthly reconciliations and reports to management.
• Payroll processing.
• Statutory payments to relevant revenue authority including tax computing.
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Graduate Degree in Finance & Accounting (M.Phil., MBA, MSc., MA).
• Professional Certification (ACCA; CPA; CIMA; etc).
• Between 5 and 10 years’ current and continuous experience as a practicing professional in accountancy.
• Must be FLUENT in both English and French (spoken AND written)
• Outstanding financial and accountancy skills (familiarity with Xero software would be an added advantage).
• In-depth understanding of financial principles and practices.
• Highly developed proficiency in financial analysis and reporting.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting and forecasting techniques.
• Confident and disciplined – you must be comfortable and competent working autonomously.
• Commitment to ethical conduct, integrity and compliance.
• Ability to relate to people at all levels and communicate effectively.
• A background, or relevant experience, in the agricultural commodities and/or Agri FinTech sector/s (especially with exposure to cashew nut production, harvesting and international distribution/logistics processes) shall be considered an advantage.

Conditions:
This position is available immediately and my client is keen to fill it as soon as possible.
