Treasury Manager

FinTech Sector – Accra

DWR Executive Search has been retained to find an outstanding and experienced Treasury Manager with a specific background in Tier 1 Banking, Investment or Insurance etc, and with a developed understanding of the local and international banking/financial and FinTech markets. This position is for residents of Ghana only and is an on-site office role based in Accra.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the successful applicant will occupy a pivotal position within the company’s financial management structure.

Core Duties of the Role: In the general context of Policy Design and Implementation; Foreign Exchange Trading; Liquidity Management; Bank Settlements; Funding and Monitoring of FinTechs; and the supervision of Treasury Officers, the successful candidate will be required to:

  • Manage daily cash positioning, forecasting, and liquidity management to optimize cash flow.
  • Monitor and ensure adequate cash reserves for operational needs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Ghanaian and international banks, financial institutions, and other key partners.
  • Negotiate banking terms and agreements to secure favourable terms and services.
  • Oversee the company’s investment portfolio, making informed decisions to maximize returns while managing risk.
  • Monitor market conditions and adjust investment strategies as needed.
  • Identify and assess financial risks, including currency risk, interest rate risk, and credit risk; and proactively develop and implement appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to treasury operations.
  • Prepare and present financial reports, including cash flow forecasts and investment performance.
  • Lead and develop a team of treasury professionals, fostering a culture of excellence with continuous monitoring and improvement.
  • Develop and implement treasury-related policies and procedures to ensure that the company has strong internal controls in place at all times.

Essential Qualifications & Requirements. To be considered for this opportunity, please ensure you comply with the following criteria:

  • A relevant professional certification (ICAG, ACCA or any equivalence), or a master’s degree.
  • ACI Certification
  • A minimum of 10 years’ proven experience in Treasury Management or similar within the Financial Services industry, i.e., Tier 1 Banking Institutions, Investments, Insurance, etc.,
  • Outstanding Financial and Accountancy skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Constant attention to detail and highly tuned analytical skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
  • The highest level of ethical conduct, integrity, and a commitment to compliance.
  • The ability to relate to people at all levels and used to working under pressure.
  • Access to your own vehicle
  • Excellent communication skills in both spoken and written English

This position is available immediately and is based at the employer’s offices in the vicinity of the Kotoka International airport.
