Senior Accountant

FinTech Sector – Accra.

DWR Executive Search has been retained to find a well-qualified and experienced Senior Accountant with a specific background in the FinTech sector and with a developed understanding of the local and international banking/financial market. This position is for residents of Ghana only and is an on-site office role based in Accra.

Core Duties of the Role: In the general context of financial planning and analysis; budget management; policy and procedures; and team supervision, the successful candidate will be required to

  • Prepare and oversee the organisation’s budgeting process.
  • Develop appropriate financial strategies and plans that meet organisational goals.
  • Analyse financial data and trends to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Monitor budget performance and implement effective cost control measures.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
  • Lead and develop a team of accounts professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous monitoring and improvement.
  • Develop and implement account-related policies and procedures to ensure that the company has strong internal controls in place at all times.

Essential Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Graduate Degree in Finance & Accounting (M.Phil., MBA, MSc., MA).
  • Professional Certification (ICAGH; ACCA; CPA; CIMA; etc).
  • At least 5 years’ current and continuous experience as a practicing professional in the FinTech sector.
  • 10 years’ continuous finance and accounts work experience with at least 3 years in a management position.
  • Outstanding financial and accountancy skills.
  • In depth understanding of financial principles and practices.
  • Highly developed proficiency in financial analysis and reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting and forecasting techniques.
  • Confident leadership and team management abilities.
  • Commitment to ethical conduct, integrity and compliance.
  • Ability to relate to people at all levels and used to working under pressure.
  • Your own vehicle
  • Excellent communication skills in both spoken and written English.

This position is available immediately and is based at the employer’s offices in the vicinity of the airport (Kotoka).
