DWR has been retained to find a highly qualified Group HR Director with significant and current experience in the 4 and 5-star hotel sector. This position is open only to local applicants physically present in Ghana.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
The successful applicant will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resource department across three hotels, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organisation’s mission and strategy. As the Group HR Director, he or she will play a pivotal role in the smooth day-to-day management of the HR activities central to the running of a business operating at the forefront of the luxury hotel sector in Accra.
YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
- Collaborating with senior leadership and stakeholders to understand the group’s goals and strategies relating to staffing, recruitment and retention rates.
- The planning, development, implementation and management of HR policies, processes, initiatives and staff training programs; Supporting the Group’s human resource compliance and strategy requirements; Identifying, researching and developing human resource procedures to the benefit of the Group.
- Oversee and administer HR functions and programs such as (but not limited to) compensation and benefits, leave, holiday and maternity entitlements; disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations; staff performance and talent management; employee productivity, recognition and reward, morale, training and development; occupational health & safety.
- Guiding management, stakeholder and employee actions through research, development, and writing and updating policy; and implementing HR strategies by establishing and strengthening department accountability and performance including new talent acquisition, employee onboarding and processing, staff development and compensation.
- Providing management and stakeholders with HR advice, counsel, support and decisions, and accomplish special project results by identifying, clarifying and resolving issues and priorities.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- MBA in Human Resources.
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience in a similar position at a 4 or 5-star hotel. You MUST have a substantial background in, and current experience of, the Hotel Sector in Ghana.
- Strong leadership qualities, an excellent communicator at all levels, and an accomplished problem-solver.
- Must be committed to leading by example, able to multi-task, delegate and plan daily, weekly and monthly for both yourself and your department.
- Adherence to the company’s standards and policies, and comfortable conveying information and ideas clearly (verbally and in writing).
- Proficiency in various software programs and Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc) and Chrome.
- Must be able to prioritise departmental functions and assign work to the appropriate department staff to meet deadlines and due dates; lead, guide, nurture and direct staff within the HR department, other department peers and as otherwise required to provide information on the department’s performance and needs.
- Proactively seek to design, plan and implement special projects to enhance the functions of the HR department.
CONDITIONS:
This position to available to Ghanaian applicants based in Accra. The employment package will reflect the successful applicant’s experience accordingly and will include a salary in the range of GHc16,000 per month. As a senior and important position that carries a high degree of responsibility, it is a prerequisite that applicants possess the required skills and experience to be considered. PLEASE therefore do NOT apply unless you have the competencies specified and have a verifiable and solid background in the 4 and 5-star hotel sector as an experienced and qualified HR professional in the Hospitality industry.
